The final table began with the top nine players, Phil Ivey, Steven Begleiter, James Akenhead (from London, England), Eric Buchman, Joe Cada, Antoine Saout (from Saint Martin des Champs, France), Kevin Schafel (the oldest player at 52), Jeff Shulman, and Darvin Moon. Akenhead and Schafel were the first players to be eliminated, each respectively walking away with roughly 1.3 million dollars. Next to blow, was Phil Ivey ($1.4mil), followed by Steve Begleiter (nearly $1.6mil), Jeff Shulman (nearly $2mil), Eric Buchman ($2.5mil), and finally Anoine Saout (with a whopping $3.5mil). Jeff Shulman, the only member of WSOP 2009, made it to the Main Event Final Table in 2000 and finished in 7th, while Phil Ivey owns several World Series of Poker gold bracelets, although this is his first appearance at the final table (finished 10th 2003 World Series of Poker).
After the 14+ hour marathon game, that only the 2008 World Series of Poker beat time-wise, the 2009 World Series of Poker was left with the final two contestants, Joe Cada and Darvin Moon. Cada began the final table with just under $8 million in chips and kicked it up to $136 million, while Moon started out with $59 million in chips and basically kept that amount. The final event will recommence at 10pm Pacific time tonight.
We, at slotstop.com, applaud the efforts of all of the players of the WorldSeriesofPoker 2009, and wholeheartedly congratulate the finalists. Perhaps playing video poker at an online casino like JackpotCity or online slots at Sloto Cash Casino, which is what we at slotstop do, may not exactly be like playing in the World Series of Poker, but at least with online casinos, you don't have to be the best of the best to win the jackpot. We think we'll stick to online slots, and watch the final game in the WorldSeries of Poker tonight at 10pm PST (either way, we're winners, no?).
