The National Volunteer Week (April 21-27) has seen active participation from Gaming Companies with regards to community service tasks. The AGA (American Gaming Association) has also initiated a campaign called the "All in for Giving and Volunteering" and kick started research to recognize philanthropic contributions made by the gaming industry.
Though commercial Gaming Companies conduct these volunteering activities at all times of the year, there are special tasks undertaken for this week. Example of gaming companies indulging in Volunteer Work are:
- Staff of Aristocrat Technologies, Inc will work for various charities including making wooden toys for Toys4Smiles, spring cleaning at Street Teens and putting together toiletry bags and food for the aged at Helping Hands.
- Employees of the from several areas like New Jersey, Roseville, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Reno will collect litter by carrying out scavenger hunt on Earth Day, help the Hurricane Sandy Relief by assisting the Salvation Army and learn how to carry out recycling.
- People working for in places like Illinois, Mississippi, Missouri and Nevada will invest efforts in charities that are involved in book donation and providing food banks to children's hospitals.
